There’s something a little intimidating attempting to describe.
I was lucky enough to draw an elk tag in NM, and be able to hunt with GCO. I’ve been on 7 elk hunts in my life and killed 7 respectable bulls. When I showed up in camp this year I knew I had made a good choice. I not only made a life long friend I killed a 351 bull.
From accomodations to the scouting of the unit and knowing the bulls ( because he’s hunted the whole state).

I first met Howard in 2008-2009 when he was a guide in our first camp in Sonora Mexico. He ended up guiding my brother , and he got a real nice burro a couple days in.
After that trip I started applying in NM. The first northern hunt in NM we were able to help a friend get her first muley. A 200″ buck.
That hunt I wasn’t so lucky, but such is hunting. We had a couple more without success.
Things changed in 2016, my uncle and I drew an elk tag in Ruidoso. Howard knows the area and had done his homework. We both harvested big bulls on the opening day of our hunt.
My uncle and I drew a NM Oryx tag in 2018. I am looking foreward to the adventure that awaits.
I have hunted with Howard for the past 9 years in NM. He is extremely hard-working, honest and dedicated to his clients and the hunt.
Long before you show up to hunt he has been scouting the areas in preparation for the hunt.
He will give 110% everyday, the rest is up to you and the hunting Gods of course.

Howard has a great knowledge of the units,as well as the elk and their patterns. Howard put me on the class of bull I was after, and didn’t try to talk me into something less.
